Lawrence Edwin Dye

Lawrence Edwin Dye, a beloved member of the community, passed away on November 28, 2023. He will be remembered for his dedication to his career and his love for outdoor activities.

Born on December 15, 1931, Lawrence grew up in Virginia and always remained deeply connected to his home state. After completing his education, he embarked on a successful career as an auditor for the Commonwealth of Virginia. His meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic made him a highly respected professional. Colleagues admired him for his integrity and commitment to excellence.

Outside of work, Lawrence had a deep passion for biking. He found solace and joy on the scenic Virginia Creeper Trail, where he spent countless hours pedaling through nature's beauty. This activity allowed him to appreciate the wonders of the natural world and keep himself physically fit.

Lawrence was also proud of his military service. He served in the United States Army and carried the discipline and values he acquired during that time throughout his life. His dedication to serving his country was an important part of his identity.

In addition to excelling professionally and embracing outdoor adventures, Lawrence never forgot the value of education. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Master's Degree in Education, exemplifying his thirst for knowledge and personal growth. His educational background not only enriched his own life but also allowed him to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Lawrence will forever be remembered as a loyal friend, a devoted family member, and an inspiration to those who had the privilege of knowing him. His generosity and kindness touched many lives, leaving behind lasting memories that will continue to bring comfort to those who loved him.

A graveside service will be held at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon on November 30, 2023. The gathering will begin at 11:00 AM.

During this time of mourning, let us come together to celebrate the remarkable life of Lawrence and find solace in the memories we shared with him. As we bid farewell to a cherished individual, may his vibrant spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
