Lawrence A. Fallstrom Sr.
"Former Labor Leader"
Lawrence A. "Bo" Fallstrom Sr., 93 of Waterbury, entered into the gates of heaven on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Cheshire House in Waterbury. He was the loving husband of the late Antoinette (Scarzella) Fallstrom who predeceased him in 2021, as well as his first wife, Geraldine G. (Polletta) Fallstrom who predeceased him in 1986.
Bo was born in Paxton, MA on June 30, 1929, son of the late Joseph Oscar and Myrtice Mable (Powell) Fallstrom. After graduating high school, Bo enlisted in the United States Air Force, until his honorable discharge and was always honored to be a veteran.
Bo had an impressive career in the electrical trade throughout his life. He became business manager of the Local 660 IBEW and Field Rep Organizer of Local 488 IBEW until his retirement in 1992. Bo was instrumental in revitalization projects in Waterbury during the 1970's, as well as holding positions on the Waterbury Labor Council and Connecticut State Building Trades. He will always be known for being the stabilizing force in labor management negotiations. Over the years, Bo was a member of numerous clubs and organizations such as International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 660 and then Local 488 IBEW from 1951 to Present, a member of the American Legion in Wolcott, Waterbury Labor Council, CT State Building Trades, the Waterbury Elks, as well as a member of the building committee for SS. Peter & Paul Church and Holy Cross High School.
Above all of Bo's accomplishments and history, he adored his family more than anything. He adored spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great children. Bo loved taking trips to the casino and enjoying his favorite treat, a Milky Way bar.
Bo leaves behind to cherish his memory his two sons, Lawrence "Larry" A. Fallstrom Jr. and his wife Cindi of Prospect, Michael Fallstrom and his wife Linda of Tennessee, his three step-children, Barbara Bianco and her husband Lou of Rhode Island, Karen Pace and Rob DeMatteo of Milford, and Charles Pace of Waterbury. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Ruth Flaherty of Waterbury, Gayle Cellucci of Panama, his two grandchildren, Kari Fallstrom Gray and her husband Tom of Prospect, Marc Fallstrom and Christina Luddy of Prospect, his three step-grandchildren, Kristi Bianco of Rhode Island, Toby Bianco and his wife Liz of West Hartford, Cheslie Norton of California, as well as his great grandchildren, Avery and Aiden Gray, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joe, Norman, David and Margie Fallstrom.
Arrangements: A funeral will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, 9:45 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to SS. Peter & Paul Church, Mary Mother of the Church Parish, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
