Lawrence I. Hardy, Jr., 93 of Bonita Springs, FL, formerly of Louisville, KY went to heaven to be with the Lord on May 28, 2025.
He was born on May 4, 1932 in Altheimer, AR to the late Clifton Pollard Hardy and Lawrence I. Hardy, Sr.
He was a 1950 graduate of Okolona High School, was a Fourth Degree Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus (Council 8877) at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He owned and operated Hardy's Ashland Service Station in Highview for 40 years. He and his wife Maren were founding members of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where they were members for 50 years.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Maren Rose Antes Hardy; son, Richard Hardy; son-in-law, Sonny Hook; brother, Donnie Hardy; and brothers-in-law, Curtis Hart and Benny Marks.
He is survived by his children, Lynda Hook of Louisville, KY, Mark Hardy (Maria) of Russell, KY, Michelle Duncan (Steve) of Lexington, KY, Scott Hardy (Lisa) of Louisville, KY, Brian Hardy (Cheri) of Louisville, KY, Larry Hardy (Shannon) of Louisville, KY, and Mary Ellen Hardy of Lexington, KY; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hardy of Louisville, KY; siblings, Kathleen Hart of Louisville, KY, Barbara Marks of Louisville, KY, David Hardy (Rosa) of Louisville, KY, Michael Hardy (Carol) of Boaz, KY; sister-in-law, Carol Gray Hardy of Brandenburg, KY; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025 at St. Bernard Catholic Church 7500 Tangelo Drive with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road.
