Obituary for Lawrence W. Heesh

Lawrence W. Heesh, lovingly known as "Larry", passed away on August 18, 2025, in Milford, Delaware, after a long illness. He was born on February 4, 1953, in Washington, D.C., and throughout his 72 years, he lived a life defined by strength, love, and devotion to his family.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Heesh, and his cherished children: Jamie Heesh (Corinna), Jessica Heesh Mensack (Andrew) and Alexis Doneker (Charles). He also leaves behind his devoted mother, Norma Scaramo; his loving brothers George Heesh (Wendy), Robert Heesh (Diane), Marty Heesh (Carol), and David Heesh (Carol); and his dear sisters Mary Harmon (Tom) and Tina Mosley (Mike). He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Larry was a proud and loving grandfather to many grandchildren who were the light of his life and the source of immense joy and pride. His legacy will continue to live on in them and in the countless extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Larry found joy in life's simple but meaningful moments. He loved golfing, fishing, metal detecting, playing chess, and exploring the outdoors. Whether on an adventure or gathered around for family activities, he created lasting memories with those he loved most. A man of quiet faith, Larry carried his faith in God and values into the way he lived, with strength, integrity, and compassion.

Larry will be remembered as the rock of his family, the steady foundation who taught resilience, inspired courage and led with unwavering love. His grit, wisdom, faith, and unconditional devotion built a legacy that will never be forgotten and will remain with his family forever.

"A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again." – Maya Angelou
