Lawrence J Hubert Sr (4/29/1943 - 8/7/2025) Born the son of a cop and tavern owner, William Patrick and Monstella "Stella" Hile Hubert. He grew up up on Jackson & VanHook Sts. in Camden NJ.

Father to TerriLynn, Lawrence Jr, Melisa , Sharlene & Romina. The juice was worth the squeeze. Hard work was rewarded.

Larry outlived his brothers Bill and Bob. He was a friend and mentor to his niece and nephews.

An affectionate, dedicated, hardworking and man who played as hard as he worked.

He always put the responsibilities and needs of others ahead of his own. Born in the bustling city of Camden, Big Lar, or Arlo to his oldest friends, graduated from Bonsall Elementary and Hatch Middle schools. ultimately graduated from the Purple Avalanche of Camden High in 1961.

While raising a family and building his career, he made time to continue his business growth at LaSalle University.

Always a hard and tireless worker, his first endeavor was selling YumYum on Mt Ephriam Ave by wagon, as a kid he cleaned the taps & trough at Hubert's Cafe.

On to MidVale Steel as a crane operator.

Then Discount Harry's for decades. Working and growing the legendary spot for all things fun. He built lifelong friendships there. So many friends and family were employed there over decades.

Several years at Branch Brooks Company as a senior manager.

Then he returned home for his new passion.

Discount Pools was a startup venture. The joy and passion of this family business brought many rewards.

Continued grow and family atmosphere made his home and work a pleasure.

Raising 4 girls and a son was also a pleasure...although sometimes challenge! Dad was a always there for his family. Tireless commitment and dedication to the family. He is a stand-up guy and respected by all.

Known for his compassionate nature, giving spirit, and witt. When not working, he could always be found chatting on the sidelines of all the sporting events, at family moments for his children and grandchildren and of course, the local diner.

He wanted to thank all those that made his final years bearable Alan and Patrick for their love and dedication.

The stories of old are never ending.

He was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer words of comfort to whomever needed it. He has positively impacted many lives.

How else to measure a man?

Larry was married to Teresa in 1964. mother to his 5 children. He loved her for the family and memories they built together.

He married his his beloved wife, Brenda in 2007. They have shared wonderful memories together. Brenda personality brought warmth and joy to to his life. The have shared many wonderful memories together. A wonderful relationship. Together they spend the last decades together.

Everyone Larry encountered has left lasting memories of their time together.

His passing will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him.

Dad's memory will remain is the hearts of his family, his friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on for generations to come in the heart of his family.

They say the success of a man's life can be measured in the amount of joy and love he gives. There is no shortage of his love.

He is survived by his five children:

Two wonderful son-in-law's Robert Pandolfi and Alan Kowal.

His amazing grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Nichole, Kimmy, Jesse, Jackson, Ava, Melina, Brody and Christina. And his beautiful great grandchildren, Cali, Luca and Gigi.

Big Lar will ride the train to the pearly gates on a winged chariot.

Godspeed our father. You were loved and you will be truly missed.

Thank you to all who have reached out to our family with empathy and love for having been lucky to have know, befriended, mentored or loved by a man who always saw the best in people

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 10am to 11:45am at St. Rose of Lima Church 300 Kings Highway Haddon Heights, NJ 08035. Funeral Mass will begin at 12 Noon. Interment to follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery 515 W. Browning Road Bellmawr, NJ 08031.
