PRINCETON – Lawrence E. "Larry" Jessee, 69, of Princeton, died Thursday, May 30, 2024. Born January 20, 1955 in Tazewell, VA, he was the son of the late Richard D. Jessee, Sr. and Meda Hardy Jessee.
Mr. Jessee was a former coal miner and welder. He retired from Joy Global in Bluefield, Virginia. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Larry was an avid sports fan, especially the University of Tampa Women's basketball. One of his favorite events was the annual Jessee family fishing trip at Big Tumbling Creek in Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Kay Jessee.
Survivors include one daughter, Robin Stevenson and fiancé Kevin Watkins of Princeton; one son, Larry Wayne Jessee and wife Amanda of Princeton; four brothers, Bill Jessee of Princeton, Richard D. Jessee, Jr. and fiancée Kellie Gunderson of Glen Allen, VA, Tom Jessee and wife Nikki of Tampa, FL and Robert Jessee and wife Sissy of Goldsboro, NC; three grandchildren, Taylor Crotts and husband Eric, Kailee Jessee and Rylee Jessee all of Princeton; one great grandson, S.J. Leippi; several nieces and nephews; and very special lifelong friend, Kevin McMillion.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Bill Deskins officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin McMillion, Wesley Jessee, Patrick Baden, Cameron Coppola, Kevin Watkins and Eric Crotts.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 3, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.bailey-kirk.com.
