Lawrence Lewis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J. Warren Funeral Services Mountain View Chapel & Crematorium & Casa Grande on Feb. 19, 2025.

Lawrence C. Lewis, age 75, of Florence, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025. Born on March 28, 1949, in Sells, he was the son of Lupe Lopez and Jimmy Lewis. Lawrence was an active member of his community during his time at Florence High School, where he participated in sports, clubs, and student government.

Lawrence voluntarily enlisted in the Service right out of High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army, dedicating time to his country in both Vietnam and Korea. Throughout his younger years, he found joy in coaching youth sports and embraced a passion for running.

Family meant the world to Lawrence, and he cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed occasional visits to the casino, where he found joy at the slot machines.

Lawrence is survived by his two children, Nicholas and Claudina Lewis, as well as three siblings—Mary Talas, Joyce Manzanedo, and Romo Lewis. He leaves behind six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Brian Lewis, and three siblings.

A visitation will take place on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole and Maude, Coolidge Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Florence, Arizona. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Florence Cemetery, Florence Arizona.

J. Warren Funeral Services are entrusted with the arrangements. Lawrence C. Lewis will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, and service to his country.
