Obituary of Lawrence Patrick McDermott
Lawrence Patrick McDermott was born January 16, 1948 to William and Celia (Smith) McDermott in Troy, NY. He was the fourth of five children.
He grew up on a farm and was a country boy at heart and as an adult he worked at Pacific Pools and GardenWay.
Larry remained a happy bachelor throughout his life. He took loving care of his mother until she passed away. He grew up surrounded by relatives who lived close by. For years he entered the Schaghticoke Fair's demolition derby. When he was younger, Larry enjoyed owning and driving Corvettes. He treasured riding his various Harley Davidson's, and taking long trips with his friends. He also loved to attend and coordinate family clam steams and picnics. Larry was well known in Pittstown as he lived there all of his life. He attended St. Georges Catholic Church in Pittstown up until its closing.
He was predeceased by his parents, siblings - John (Jackie) McDermott, William McDermott, Carolyn Wein and Madeline LeBarron, and two godsons, James (Jimmy) Wein and Kevin LeBarron and nephew and namesake, Larry McDermott. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
