Lawrence Merchant

The family of Lawrence "Larry" E. Merchant Sr. of Sharon, Pa is saddened to announce his passing on August 19th, 2025 at the age of 80, following a long, hard-fought battle with his health. Larry was a master tinkerer and back yard mechanic, always finding creative ways to make, repair or recycle all kinds of items and could be found helping family with many projects over the years. He loved being outdoors, spending time at camp and actively looking forward to deer hunting season each year. He also enjoyed taking scenic car trips and looking for unique shops or places to explore.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter & granddaughter, Laura M. Merchant & Valerie L. Merchant-Harris, both of Hermitage, Pa. His Son, Daughter-In-Law & Grandson, Lawrence E., Kandace & Chase L. Merchant, all of Hubbard, Oh.
He is also survived by three brothers; Leslie "Butch" (June) Merchant, William "Bill" Merchant, both of Hermitage, Pa. Ralph "Pete" (Mary) Merchant of Transfer, Pa. And two sisters, Betty Marosy and Bonnie Ayers, both of Sharon, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, formerly, Rose Marie Wagner of Elkins, WV, whom he married on June 8, 1968.
His parents, Leslie V. & Elsie B. (Scott) Merchant. Two brothers, Raymond and James Merchant. And two sisters Catherine (Kate) Carter and Shirley Keasy.
