Lawrence Dean Sawyer, 75, of Turnersville, NJ, passed away on March 30, 2025.
Lawrence was born in Topeka, Kansas, to Dean and Margery (Waite) Sawyer, and spent the last 37 years of his life as a resident of Turnersville. Following a distinguished career spanning over 30 years at Acsis, Inc. in Marlton, he retired early as the Vice President of Technology.
Lawrence was predeceased by his beloved parents and the love of his life, Donna Gail (née Frank), with whom he shared 54 cherished years. He is survived by his devoted children, Brian Sawyer and his wife Lauren, and Lawren Sawyer and her fiancé Erick. Lawrence leaves behind five treasured grandchildren who called him "Poppy"-Sarah Sawyer-Poper, Lorianna Poper, Isabella Sawyer, Kaylie Sawyer, and Brandon Sawyer-as well as his adored great-granddaughter, Ariel. He is also remembered fondly by his extended family and many dear friends.
The eldest of three loving siblings-Janet, Joanne, and Timothy-Larry grew up surrounded by a tight-knit family. It was in his youth that he met Donna, the love of his life, on the swim team; their connection ignited by a shared passion for the water.
Larry's unwavering faith and deep devotion to the church touched many lives. He carried the Gospel into prisons, sharing his steadfast belief with compassion and purpose. He will be forever remembered for his selflessness, gentle spirit, and extraordinary knack for fixing just about anything. Within his family, his legendary Christmas Day potato soup remains a beloved tradition.
After a lifetime dedicated to providing for others, Larry embraced early retirement with joy, enjoying time with his family. He could often be found playfully chasing the grandkids around the house or relaxing out on the porch with a cigar, listening to the Phillies game. He spent blissful summers at the shore alongside his wife, generously sharing their beach rental with friends and loved ones.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Larry's Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 10:30am at Ss Peter and Paul Church, located at 362 Ganttown Road, Sewell NJ 08080.
Interment will be held privately for his immediate family.
