Moultrie, Georgia – Lawrence Glover “Brother” Valentino, 82, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his residence.
Graveside rites will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Pinecrest Memory Gardens, with the Reverend Doctor Robert S. McCoy, Jr., officiating. He will also be honored with Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 PM, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Holland, Wayne Smith, Bobby Owens, Tom Cox, Robert McCoy and Joe Keigans.
Born September 26, 1943, in Columbus, Georgia, he was a son of the late John Gabriel Valentino, Jr. and the late Harriette Faye Glover Valentino.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Valentino; and sister-in-law, Robin Valentino.
He graduated from Valdosta State University, was the founder and retired owner of the Mellow Mushroom in Albany, Georgia, was a Mason and Shriner and was also a member of First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Searcy Valentino; brothers, Johnny Valentino and wife, Georgia and Bobby Valentino; nephews, Daniel Searcy, David Valentino and John Valentino and wife, Christy; niece, Alden Patel and husband, Neal; special family friend, Jewel Posey; as well as other extended family and friends. He is also survived by his feline companions, Peanut and Thomas.
