L.C. Deshotel

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings, LA for Mr. L.C. Deshotel, 88, who passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at his home in Jennings, LA.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Matthews Funeral Home in Jennings, LA from 10:00 am until his services begin at 2:00 pm.

Pastor Jered Thomas will be officiating the Funeral and Graveside services. Burial will take place at the Grace Community Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. L.C. was born in Gattes Cove, LA, on December 12, 1937, to the late Mr. Joseph Lawrence Deshotel of Church Point, LA and Mrs. Edith Miller of Gattes Cove. As a lifelong resident of south Louisiana area, L.C. was a true Cajun soul. Always listening to Cajun French music and never missed an opportunity to visit with friends and family. He worked as a dry wall finisher and painter. He always enjoyed taking leisurely rides in his truck and playing poker machines. A beloved father, and grandfather, whose memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Mr. L.C. is survived by his sons, Tommy Deshotel (Alta) of Cheyenne, WY, Wally Deshotel (Karen) and L.C. "Peca" Deshotel both of Jennings, LA; daughters, Sherry Deshotel of Gueydan, LA, Laura Tall (John) of Hathaway, LA, Tina Thibodeaux (Terry) of Lake Arthur, LA, Margaret Smith (Phillip) of Jennings, LA, and Joy Anders of Dayton, TX; brother, Frank Deshotel of Tomball, TX; sister, Sue Smith (Kenneth) of Conroe, TX; seventeen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lawrence Deshotel and Edith Miller; sisters, Judith Cormier, Velma Richard, Zula Tuttle and Stella Mayon; brothers, Jester Deshotel, and Steve Deshotel,

The family would like to extend a special thank you to doctors, nurses, and staff at Heart of Hospice, especially to Tracy for their care and compassion they offered Mr. L.C. and his family during his time of need.

Pallbearers chosen to honor Mr. L.C. to his place of rest will be Bryce Lapretre, Brock Lepretre, Kendrick Arceneaux, Christian Daigle, Cody Smith, and Cameron Deshotel. Honorary Pallbearer will be Wyatt Deshotel.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. L.C.'s name to Grace Community Baptist Cemetery in Evangeline, LA.
