Lee Roy Pierce passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born to Edith Beatrice Evans on May 21, 1944, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. He spent most of his time there with Pap Ira Turner and Mamaw Louise (Hensley) Turner.
He moved to Indianapolis when he was 7 years old, where he later graduated from Wood High School in 1962. He was a proud member of the United States Army, serving in Thailand. He started his career at the U.S. Postal Service in 1972, where he worked until retirement.
After retirement, he spent most of his time with his family and golfing, two things he loved the most. Lee was a devoted family man who enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in various sports and other activities.
In his younger years, he enjoyed gardening, playing softball, basketball, racquetball and golf. He was able to relive those interests through three generations after him, who were lucky enough to know he was their biggest fan.
Lee loved old westerns, country music and college sports, but nothing compared to the love he had for his family.
Lee is survived by 3 children Tammy (Scott) Zemke, Shirley (Daryl) Culpepper, and Patsy (Rick) Pierce Sullivan, 7 grandchildren Kayla (Josh) LaVullis, Tiffany (Jerin) Kelly, Taylor Pierce, Alexis (Peyton) Bain, and Daulton (Johnna) Culpepper, Michelle (Josh) Webster and Chad Culpepper, 8 great grandchildren Pailyn, Paisley, Barrett, Bennett, Pierce, Emerie, Cassidy and Olivia, a special daughter in law, Sonya Pierce, a brother, Robert Evans, several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly and his beloved dog, Sara Lee.
He is proceeded in death by his parents James Earl and Beatrice Evans, son Delbert "Delbo" Pierce, Sisters Bonnie, Kim and Lisa, brothers James and Michael and brother by choice and golf partner Donnie Ramsey.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Singleton & St. Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis 46227. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Thursday from 12:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
