Leefee Mae Bryant-Sybert, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the home of her daughter in
Bloomington Springs, Tennessee.
She was born April 13, 1940, in
Bucyrus, Ohio, to the late Wade and Neva Holman. When asked by her daughter what she felt was her purpose in life, she responded, "To be a mom." She was a wonderful mother to five children. Leefee and her late husband, Willie began their lives together in
Bucyrus, Ohio, after being married in Tennessee in 1954. They later moved the family to
Saint Petersburg, Florida, where they resided until moving to their home in Tennessee. While in Saint Petersburg, Leefee worked at God's News Behind the News, and then after moving to Tennessee, she continued working outside of the home at Walmart and for the Putnam County School System where she enjoyed interacting with elementary school-aged children.
One of Leefee's many wonderful traits was her spontaneity; she was always ready for an adventure. She would stop what she was doing and go for a ride with family and friends in her dune buggy, out to eat, camping, or dancing. Her favorite times of the year were holidays and eating around the table with family and friends. She loved to cook a big meal and set the table with dishes used by her grandmothers. She was always game for a new challenge which included ziplining while on a cruise at the age of 78.
Leefee married her childhood friend, Phillip Sybert in 2013. This began a new chapter in her life, one filled with new friends, traveling all over the country, camping, and dancing. She didn't want to miss any opportunity to enjoy life. She always encouraged others to get out and enjoy life, and she did just that until her illness in 2021. Even throughout her illness she remained positive and continued to push herself to get better. She did this with a great deal of grace and sheer grit. God graced Leefee with more years than was expected for this disease and without pain, she was a walking miracle. She is now rejoicing in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, eating and laughing around a massive table with family and friends... and, of course, dancing to her heart's content.
Leefee is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Sybert; children- Stan (Veronica) Bryant; Neva (Dan) Brubaker; Connie (Ken) Philebaum; James (Charlene) Bryant; Step-children- Angela (Joe) Sybert-Hartman; Christina (Bill) Sybert-Bowker; grandchildren- Chris (Bridget) Bryant; Becca (Brian) Marx; Derek (Kerri) Bryant; Kindra (Tony) Aguirre; Brian (Kelly) Fox; Tim (Samantha) Fox; Zack Bryant; Crystal (Nick) Prall; Step grandchildren- Sarah (Shawn) Clardy; Janice Sybert; Emily (Robert) Bruce; Dustin (Meagan) Delsi; Andrew (Brianna) Sybert; Andrea (Evan) Jessen; Collin (Kimmi) Smith; Devon (Chelsea) Bowker; Daniel Sybert; Cory Sybert; Richard (Victoria) Bowker; Bailey (Noah) Clark; Nathan O'Rourke; 33 great-grandchildren.
