Belton
Leland Herman Brooks, 93, husband of the late Mildred V. Brooks and the late Lucille M. Mattison Brooks of Belton, died Wednesday October 15, 2025, at his residence.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Herman and Gladys Brooks. He attended First Belton Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was survived by a daughter, Debbie Todd (Doug) of Anderson; a step daughter, Connie Caldwell (Bucky) of Belton; a brother, Frank Brooks of Anderson; a sister, Carolyn Tribble (Carol) of Belton; grandson, Shane Hobby (Kinza); granddaughter, Lauren Allman; great grandchildren, Branyce (Kryslyn), Ashton, Paiton Hobby, Alucard and Amy Allman, and 2 great-great grandchildren Maisley and Oakley Hobby.
He was preceded in death by a son Matt Brooks, and brothers, Bill and Turman Brooks.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday October 17, 2025, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will follow funeral services on Friday.
A private burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to First Baptist Church Belton.
The family will be at their respective homes.
Cox Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
