Jimmy Lewis Bannister, 88, widow of the late Shirley Ann McAlister Bannister of Belton, died Saturday October 11, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center.
He was born in Anderson County and was the son of the late Frank and Eunice Stricklin Bannister. He was of the Baptist Faith, and he graduated from Belton High School in 1956, attended Clemson College and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Essex Inc. Belton.
He is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Eller (Tracy) of Belton, a grandson, Stephen Eller (Jessica) of Belton and a granddaughter, Jessica Segars of Belton.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Bannister, parents Frank and Eunice Bannister.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday October 15, 2025, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norman Black officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to service from 1:00PM until 1:45PM Wednesday.
Burial will be held at a later date at M.J Dolly Cooper.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave Chicago IL 60601 or through www.alz.org
The family will be at the residence.
Cox Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
