Leland Roy Case (Lee), 101, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 16, 2025. Lee survived his parents, Loren and Grace (Kromelbein) Case, brothers, Larry and Frederick, and his wife, Laura G. (Keiper) Case, both born and raised in Noxen, PA. Lee served as a Gunner's Mate for the U.S. Navy (1943-1946), protecting cargo ships during World War II, and drove car carriers for M&G Convoy. Lee had a sunny personality backed by an enormous, compassionate heart that lit up every room he entered. His ability to balance humor, joy and patience with strength, endurance and perseverance was an inspiration and gift to all who knew him. He adored animals, people and his community. He enjoyed travel adventures, trains, music, card games and quality time and meals shared with those he cherished. He actively dedicated himself to the community through his participation at VFW Post 9594, Grace United Methodist Church, the local Lions Club and Senior Projects of Ravena. Lee and Laura's long-time union created four children: Robert (Theresa) Case; Dale (Karen Davis) Case; Martin (Christine) Case; and Rebecca Allen. After decades of raising family in NY, primarily Ravena, they were blessed with seven grandchildren: Brian Case; Karina Reets; Amanda Allen; James Case; Aja Chavez; Lori Allen; and Shannon Case, followed by six great-grandchildren. Lee also leaves behind his sister, Verna McGinley, as well as many friends he met along the way. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – Don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and who was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourselves but to God; he bought you for a price. So use your bodies for God's glory. "Take it easy." – departing words often spoken by Lee Relatives and friends are invited to Babcock Funeral Home in Ravena, NY on June 20, 2025 from 5 PM - 8 PM. Funeral services will take place on June 21, 2025 at 11 AM at Babcock Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the family plot of Chestnut Lawn Cemetery with military honors.
