Leo Joseph "Joe" Allis, Jr., 91, Wildwood, Florida went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2025 at UF Health Leesburg Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born on June 10, 1933 in Blossburg, Pennsylvania to his parents Leo Joseph Allis, Sr. and Evelyn N. (Bateman) Allis.
Joe and his beloved wife Leta moved to Coleman, Florida in 1983 from Bath, New York. He was of the Methodist faith and was a former member of Coleman United Methodist Church in Coleman, Florida. Joe was a proud Veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 101 of Bushnell, Florida. He was a retired truck driver and had retired from Great Southern Wood Preserving of Lake Panasoffkee. Joe will be greatly missed by his loving family and dear friends.
Joe is survived by his sons: Sean Patrick Allis and his wife Tracy of Wildwood, FL, Dan Allis and his wife Denise of Wichita, KS and Mike Allis and his wife Krista of Waterloo, NY; two daughters: Jennifer Jo Leachman and her husband Dwayne of Wildwood, FL and Maureen Hennessy of Geneva, NY; a sister: Martha Kiely and her husband Steve of Durango, CO; eight loving grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Leta Allis, and two brothers, Parker Thomas Allis and Andrew Parker Allis.
A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00AM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel in Wildwood.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Florida United Methodist Children's Home in Enterprise, Florida.
