It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leo (Dan) Andrews Sr., who left us on March 26, 2025, at the age of 89. Dan was a father, grandfather, husband, uncle and a cherished friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.

Born on August 2, 1935, in Summerville, Louisiana, Dan was the son of Wade and Mardelle Andrews. He grew up in Jena, Louisiana developing a love for music, fishing, and playing football/baseball. His passion for sports led him to coach football for 37 years, where he was dedicated to mentoring and working with young people. His influence shaped countless lives, both on and off the field.

Dan’s work ethic, sense of humor, gift of storytelling and generosity were just a few of the qualities that made him special to everyone who knew him. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire us all.

Dan Sr. is survived by his son, Dan Andrews Jr. (Jana); his daughter, Brenda Spicer (Donald); grandchildren, Lee Ann Andrews Munoz (Richard), JoNell Ilean Wallace, Amber Spicer Lescano (George), Jonathan Wade Andrews (Leah), Taylor Scott Spicer, and Roman Christian Spicer. Great-grandchildren; Cole Andrews-Heitz, Camdyn Andrews Munoz, Keagan Andrews Munoz, Jonah Wallace, Judah Wallace, Colton Wade Andrews, Emerson Marie Andrews, Eliotte Rose Andrews, many nieces and nephews, and Roosevelt Potts. He was predeceased by wife Ilean Andrews; parents Wade and Mardelle, brothers Billy and Hershel, and sisters Betty and Ann. His memory will forever be cherished, and his influence will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

A celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Rayville Methodist Church, 905 S Louisa St, Rayville LA, 71269.
