Leo Arthur Brandao, 76, of Accokeek, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton.
Born on September 22, 1948 in Barnstable, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Arthur Brandao and Lillian Abraham Brandao. Leo served in the U. S. Air Force for over 26 years until he was retired in 1996 at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Gideons International, an amateur carpenter who had a gift doing home improvements, and also authored an autobiography that he had published. Leo was a Christian and attended the Christ Mission Ministries in Brandywine.
In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his son Billy; brothers Arthur Jr., Dennis and Johnny; sister Theresa.
Leo is survived by his wife Barbara; sons Chris, Adam and his wife Melissa; grandchildren Caitlyn, Trevor, Sean, Kevin, Skylar, and Sarah; sisters Leonna, Mary, Anna, and Marcia.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 5PM until time of service at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646 with Pastor John Edwards officiating.
Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
