He was drafted into the Army in 1968, where he served in Vietnam. After his time of service, he returned to Benson, AZ where he worked for Cochise County as a Superintendent for over 25 years.
He married Pamela Lynne Duran on March 9, 2001. They were blessed with 3 sons- Greg Dimas, Alexander (AJ) Dimas, and Jonathan Dimas; as well as 3 grandchildren- Kameron Dimas, Hansen Dimas, and Hayden Dimas. He had many inherited "children" including Joey and Avery Haines and their children, Keiley Bowen, Jill Dimas, Cheecho and Bird Martinez and their children, Mary Helen and Gonzales Family and his biggest football competitor Zach Bernal.
Leo's family was his pride and Joy. He was a true patriarch always going the extra mile to make sure everyone was taken care of. He was a friend to all. You could count on Leo to lend a listening ear, give great advice, and always make you laugh. He was a true fix-it guy who took pride in his work and valued a job done right. He was always the coolest guy in the room with a wicked sense of humor, fun demeanor and a laugh that filled the room. He also loved his solace and was a true homebody working on projects and spending time with his dogs and cats. He had many nick names from Tata, Uncle Leo, old man, old hound, brother, homes, and que pachota.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia and his siblings Johnny Dimas, Priscilla Quiroz, Marc Dimas, and Nicky Tenorio.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela; children Greg, AJ and Jon; his grandchildren Kameron, Hansen and Hayden. He is also survived by his siblings Margaret Brown and Mondo Dimas.
