Leo "Billy" Glenn Jr.

Leo Billy Glenn Jr of Coker, AL passed away peacefully on the evening of August 9, 2023, in Northport. His loving wife, Ginny of 56 years was present at the time of his passing. Numerous family, friends and loved ones visited "Billy" in his final days.
He is survived by his wife Ginny Glenn of Coker, sister Marian Glenn Waters of Northport, sons Mark Glenn (Allyson) of Coker and David Glenn (Darci) of Northport, and daughter Julie Glenn Hope of Coker, and four grandchildren: Eli, Mark Hayden, Riley, and Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Glenn Sr and Myra Glenn of Tuscaloosa, grandparents David and Rosalee Glenn of Peterson and Thomas and Fannie Criswell of Peterson.
Billy grew up attending Hopewell Baptist Church in Alberta where he was baptized as a teenager. He and wife Ginny were married on July 14, 1967, at Cottondale Baptist Church. The family became members of Cottondale Church of Christ and later Northport Church of Christ after relocating to Coker. Billy graduated from Holt High School in 1965 and the first session of the Police Academy at the University of Alabama in 1972. He attended Brewer State College for two years and became a very successful insurance agent with Liberty National Life, Bessemer, Al where he later retired. Billy was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed motorcycles and working on cars.
Services will be held at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park on Monday, August 14, 2023. Visitation for family and friends will start at 1pm with a service at 2pm. Kerry Richardson, minister of the Northport Church of Christ will officiate services with a private graveside service to follow.
The pallbearers will be sons Mark and David Glenn, grandsons Mark Hayden and Hudson Glenn, grandson Eli McJenkin, and lifelong friend Jerry Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to the Indian Creek Youth Camp at indiancreekyouthcamp.org
