Mr. Leon Wendell Voltz, Sr., affectionately known to many as "Tootie", " Bad News" and "Putt", was born on September 20, 1948 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Deacon Daniel, Sr. and Julia (Fornis) Voltz. He passed away on December 30, 2025 at the age of 77 years.

Leon joined Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL at an early age. Leon relocated Saginaw, Michigan in 1969 and was employed at the Nodular Iron Plant and retired from General Motors Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry Division in October 2005 with 36 years of dedicated service. He was affiliated with UAW Local 668.

Leon attended Druid City High School in Tuscaloosa, AL where he was in the Baseball Hall of Fame, and he also played football and enjoyed the same after coming to Michigan. Leon had a passion for cooking and hosting cookouts, birthdays and birthday celebrations for his mother who is now deceased. Leon was a "Man of Class" and a sharp dresser when it came to his clothing; he was always "SHARP" FROM HEAD TO TOE.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 20 ½ years, Marcellene Campbell-Voltz; a blended family of two daughters, Yashica Campbell, Atlanta, GA and Kenyatta Campbell, Saginaw, MI; six sons, Derrick (Terri) Voltz, Tuscaloosa, AL, Jeremy (Stephanie) Voltz, Strong, AR, Leon (Myreekedra) Voltz, Jr., North Little Rock, AR, Kendrick Voltz, Hope, AR, Curtis (Bianca) Coleman, Flint, MI and Cristopher Voltz, Saginaw, MI; also a host of grand and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lozella Harris and Belinda Voltz, Saginaw; three brothers, James Voltz, Saginaw, Alonzo (Denise) Voltz, Cecil, OH and Napoleon Travis Sears, Atlanta, GA; an aunt, Sarah Fornis, Tuscaloosa, AL; many nieces, nephews, cousins; ten brothers-in-law; ten sisters-in-law and special friends.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Daniels, Sr. and Julia Voltz; son, Kevin Voltz; brothers, Robert Louis, Ivory Dean and Daniel Voltz, Jr; four brothers-in-law and five sisters.

Family Hour will take place on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 3610 Russell St., Saginaw, MI 48601, with the funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Otis Washington will officiate with interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
