Leonard Doyle Carroll, age 88, of Royse City passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 in Rockwall. Mr. Carroll was born on April 6, 1936 in Seagraves, Texas to Leonard G. and Ruby Nell (Spence) Carroll. He married Elton “Fay” Amyett Turner on January 3, 1981 in San Antonio. Leonard was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, former diesel and auto mechanic, and retired truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, playing pool, shooting darts, reading Louis L’Amour westerns, watching John Wayne movies, and telling his stories. 

 Leonard is survived by his son, Steven Anthony Carroll of Dayton; stepchildren, Sandra Turner Perry of Royse City, Raymond Turner II and wife Beth of Klondike, Ralph Turner of Royse City, Clara Turner Wood and husband Chris of Royse City, Jayne Turner Vaughan and husband Anthony of Powderly; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his stepfather, C.A. “Skeet” Dulin; mother, Ruby Spence Dulin; father, Leonard G. Carroll; wife, Elton “Fay” Amyett Carroll; brother, Douglas M. Carroll; sisters, Betty Jean Dulin Mosteller, MaryLynn Carroll Taylor; grandson, James D. Perry II; granddaughter, Staci N. Perry; and grandson, Billy Jay Burt II.

 A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
