Mr. Leonard M. Flynn

Leonard M. Flynn Beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather LOWELL- Leonard M. Flynn of Lowell died peacefully at the age of 88 surrounded by family on August 29, 2025 at the Blaire House of Tewksbury. Beloved husband of 61 years to the late Ann J. (Healy) Flynn. Father of Kathleen Neylon and her husband Jay of Richmond, VA, John Flynn of Longmont, CO, Meg Chase of North Chelmsford, Martha McQuaide and her husband Jay of Andover, and Sarah Waterhouse and her husband Kevin of Lowell. Loving Grandfather to Meaghan, Kelsey, Mackenzie, Emily, Annie, Molly, Ryan, Christopher, Jack, Drew and great grandfather to Ella. Len is also survived by his sister and brother-in law Joanna and Jack Doykos of Rye, NH, brother and sister-in law Peter and Kathi Flynn of Henniker, NH and sisters-in law Liz Flynn of Melrose and Pat Hulme of Atkinson, NH, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He was also brother to the late Jack, Thomas, and Stephen Flynn. Len was born in Lowell on September 23, 1936 to Catherine (McSorley) and John P. Flynn and became a lifelong Lowellian. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. He attended St. Michael Elementary School and Keith Academy. Len was a proud alumnus of the class of 1958 at Merrimack College. Len had a wonderful fulfilling career with the Lowell Public Schools first as a teacher at the Moody School, and then as Principal of both the McAvinnue and Wang Schools. His legacy will live on through the many students and teachers whose lives he touched. In his retirement, Len enjoyed spending time at Seabrook Beach and Wells Beach with family and friends. He maintained an active lifestyle, often boasting about his daily walks around the UMASS Lowell Gym or Shedd Park track. Len looked forward to golfing in the good weather and bowling with The Bombers during the winter months. Nothing meant more to Len Flynn than his family. He was a proud father and grandfather and let them know every chance he got. Len's gentle, loving personality was with him until the end as he will be missed by the residents and staff alike of the Blaire House of Tewksbury. FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND LEN'S CALLING HOURS ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 10, 2025, FROM 4 PM UNTIL 8 PM AT THE FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET, LOWELL. LEN'S FUNERAL WILL BEGIN ON THURSDAY MORNING AT 10 AM FROM THE FUNERAL HOME FOLLOWED BY HIS FUNERAL MASS AT 11 AM AT THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 144 EAST MERRIMACK STREET, LOWELL. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN ST. MARY'S CEMETERY, TEWKSBURY.
