Leonard Michael Grimes, 59, of Tigerton, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at home after a hard fought battle with cancer. Lenny was born on July 10, 1965 to Michael and Sandra (Bush) Grimes. Upon graduation from Hortonville High School in 1984, he joined the U.S. Army. After completing his military career, Lenny then attended Fox Valley Technical College and earned his Diesel Mechanic Degree. He then spent the remainder of his life working as a mechanic where he could fix just about anything.
Lenny's work ethic was indescribable and he would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was the "jack of all trades" kind of guy when it came to fixing things. His journey was not easy, but he loved fiercely and had a laugh that was unforgettable. Lenny's greatest joy in life was his beautiful daughter Cassandra Rose "Beans" and his sweet grandchildren.
Lenny is survived by his father, Michael (Ann) Grimes; and his daughter, Cassandra (Tony) VanderVelden; step-children, Terra Drown, Alysa (Nick) Bednarowski, and Ray Kidd; ex-wife, Christine Grimes; sisters, Michelle (Steve) Barthel, Nichole (Mark) Moir, Heather (Peter) Stern; and step-brother, Kevin (Jacquline) Starks. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews, Jamie, Jacklyn, Michael, Peyton, Jaxson, Presley, Trinity and Reina; along with his grandchildren, Arycellie "Louie", Claira "Fred", Kooper, Elijah, Ebony, Jeremiah, Serenity, Davontae, Jermaine Jr., Maeve, Matilda and Violet.
Lenny was preceded in death by his mom, Sandra Bush; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Margaret Grimes; maternal grandparents, Walter and Honey Bush; and his brother-in-law, Jim Kumlien.
There will be a small private family ceremony and a celebration of Lenny's life, for those who knew and loved him, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to his daughter Cassandra's family to assist with cremation and funeral costs.
