Leonard Earl Lancaster, 96, retired mechanic and bush hog operator for the Maury County Highway Department, died Thursday, November 9, 2023 at his residence in the Theta Community.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 13, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ricky Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Theta Baptist Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Born March 2, 1927, in Maury County, he was the son of the late James Walter Lancaster and the late Bertie Peach Lancaster. Prior to working for the Maury County Highway Department, Mr. Lancaster was employed at Columbia Rock Products and Pressnell Rock. He loved riding his Harley and horses. Mr. Lancaster was a very talented shade tree mechanic, and could fix anything. He was a member of Theta Church of Christ.
Survivors include his daughter, Helen (Travis) Warf of Santa Fe; son; Kenny (C. J.) Lancaster of Spring Hill; grandchildren, Troy (Charlene) Warf, Brent (Kellie) Warf, Stephanie Lancaster Haley, Shane (Stefanie) Lancaster, Joshua (Kim) Lancaster, Bert (Lori) Hutcherson, Haley (Derrick) Carroll; great grandchildren, Hannah (Caleb) James, Justin Warf, Caden Warf, Emma Warf, Karly Lancaster, Wyatt Lancaster, Madelyn Lancaster, Riley Jager, Macie Lancaster, Tanner Lancaster, Braelyn Carroll, Luke Carroll; great great granddaughter, Aubrey Rose James; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife whom he married January 8, 1948, Clara Mae Scott Lancaster; sons, Phillip Neal Lancaster, David Earl Lancaster; and brothers, Raymond Lancaster, Clyde Lancaster, Jimmy Lancaster, and Fred Lancaster.
Pallbearers will be Brent Warf, Troy Warf, Shane Lancaster, Josh Lancaster, Derrick Carroll, Justin Warf, Bert Hutcherson, Caden Warf, Wyatt Lancaster, and Barry Fly. Honorary Pallbearers will include Elmer Walls, past and present employees of the Maury County Highway Department, and members of the Theta Church of Christ. The Family wishes to express a special thanks to Hannah James who was a great help with his care.
