Leonard N. Stopczynski, a cherished member of the New Baltimore, MI community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the age of 91. He departed this world at the Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on Friday, September 1, 1933, Leonard was a devoted husband to the late Eleanor Stella (Bogacki) Stopczynski. Together, they built a life filled with love and happiness. Leonard was a loving father to his children, Leonard (Gail) and Lynn (Kirt) Burgtorf. His pride and joy extended to his grandchildren, Jason (Tina), Lauren (Andy), Luke (Jen), and Stacey, as well as his great-grandchildren, Ada, Gabriella, Abigail, Addison, Charolette, Isacc, and Elios. Leonard was preceded in death by his beloved parents and siblings, Richard (MaryAnn) and John (Wanda) Stopczynski. He found companionship and friendship with Mary Marchin, who remained a dear friend throughout his life. A man of diverse interests, Leonard had an enduring passion for playing cards, especially pinochle. He relished visits to the casinos and was an avid sports enthusiast, with a special fondness for baseball. Family, friends, and others whose lives Leonard touched are invited to his visitation on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Wasik Funeral Home-Gendernalik Chapel, located at 35259 23 Mile Rd., New Baltimore. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 12 noon at the same location, with gathering from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Leonard N. Stopczynski's life was a testament to the power of love, dedication, and joy in everyday moments. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to his loved ones.
