Leonie DeLong

Leonie Adele DeLong, 99, of Delaware Park, Lopatcong Township, NJ passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Country Meadows-Bethlehem.
Leonie was born in Easton, PA on July 21, 1926 to the late Arthur and Mary Anne Rheiner Wilson.
Leonie was a graduate of Easton High School, where she excelled on the Tennis Team, and Churchman's Business School of Easton. During her life, Leonie worked several jobs in retail while raising her family. The employment that she found most satisfying was with the Bell Telephone Company in Easton, PA- where she was a telephone operator and Tong-Sol in Washington, NJ. At the end of her work life, Leonie was an administrative secretary with NJ Fish, Game and Wildlife in Clinton, NJ where she found enjoyment in being around nature, observing wildlife and participating in field trips. She was an avid and enthusiastic gardener with beautiful flower gardens and raising delicious vegetables. Leonie was a talented artist who enjoyed watercolor painting, sewing and quilting. She enjoyed participating in Water Fitness Classes at the 3rd Street Alliance. As a member of the Phillipsburg Senior Center, she enjoyed playing Canasta, participating in the Healthy Bones program, learning Tai Chi and Line Dancing. Leonie was a member of the Red Hats Society and the Easton Couture Club.
Leonie is survived by Three Daughters, Leonie (Art) Worster of Palmer Township, PA, Patricia DeLong of Lopatcong Township, NJ, and Karen (Robert) Gliniecki of Bloomsbury, NJ; Grandchildren, Scott (Emily) Otto, Sean (Michelle) Otto, Adam Gliniecki, and Rachel Gliniecki; Great-grandchildren, Caitlin (John), Zachary (Heather) and Savannah; Great-great-grandchildren, John, Henry and Lanie; numerous nieces and nephews. Leonie was predeceased by her Husband, Henry William DeLong; Son, Henry William DeLong, Jr.; Brothers, Arthur, Thomas, Bernard and Anthony Wilson; and Sisters, Helena Daley, Josephine Wilson, and Mary Joan Vanatta.
A Visitation for the Family and Friends of Leonie will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Friday, August 29, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. Funeral Services will be on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery; Phillipsburg, NJ.
