Reverend Brian Taylor, pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will officiate the funeral services. Survivors include her two children, Kenneth "Ken" (Beverly) Fuselier, and Nancy (David) Duhon; one brother, Jack Joseph Domingue; four grandchildren, Mindi Nash, Anna Duhon, Adam Fuselier, and Alyce Duhon; and three great-grandchildren, Aidan Serio, Graham Fuselier, and Kate Fuselier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Fuselier, her parents, Anna Mae Verret and Valrie Domingue; and her siblings, Robley Domingue, William Domingue, Lucille Domingue Hebert, and Valrie Domingue, Jr.
Leora was a lifelong resident of Lafayette. Born in 1927 as the first of six children to Anna Mae and Valrie Domingue, Leora was a graduate of Lafayette High School and Spencer Business College. Leora married John Fuselier at 20 years old, and they had two children, Ken and Nancy.
She worked as a secretary for Dudley J. LeBlanc and his medicinal product lines for ten years before taking a position with City Judge Kaliste Saloom Jr. in 1959. She was his legal secretary for 44 years before retiring in 2003.
She enjoyed her children and being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and relied on her faith throughout her life for comfort and guidance. She was a parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
Some of her most cherished memories were traveling, gardening, and looking after her great-grandchild. Her family will miss her dearly.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Fuselier, Adam Fuselier, Aidan Serio, David Duhon, Mark Story, and Jim Hebert.
The family requests that visitation be held Friday between the hours of 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. A rosary will be led by Catherine Luu at 11:00 am.
Special thanks are given to Leora's caretakers: Connie Broussard, Glenda Lewis, and Evelyn "Meon" Foreman; and to St. Joseph Hospice for their compassion and care.
