Leroy J. Jacoby

Leroy "Jake" Jacoby, aged 89, passed away on November 27, 2025, in Bradenton, FL. Born on December 9, 1935, in Tampa, FL, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to many.
Jake graduated from Jesuit High School and later attended Florida State University where he studied and managed the men's Basketball team and continued on as an active member of the FSU Alumni Association. He dedicated 39 years of his career to serving the State of Florida, a testament to his commitment to public service.
He was a lifelong parishioner at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bradenton. Jake was also involved in various volunteer activities. Jake's commitment to his community was unmatched, and he took great joy in giving back through numerous acts of kindness.
Jake is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; his children, James "Jim" Jacoby (Loyda), Jon (Denise), Jill (Violet), and Juli; his grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, and Kori Jacoby. Jayden and Kamieo Potter; and his special grand dog, Indi. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Provenzano. Jake was preceded in death by his father, Fred Cecil Jacoby Sr, and his stepmother, Mary Jacoby.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209. A Funeral Mass will take place the following day, Saturday, December 13, at 11 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 3100 26th St. W., Bradenton, FL 34205.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that individuals honor Jake's memory by performing random acts of kindness. This aligns with his lifelong dedication to helping others and leaving the world a better place.
