Leroy Weekly Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Care Cremation & Funeral Service - Eastland Drive on Oct. 1, 2025.
Leroy Joseph Weekly, Sr., 69, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 17th, at his home in Lexington, KY. After fighting many illnesses and having been blind, Leroy was born to James Sr. Weekly and Marie Brown on August 4th, 1956, in Mattson, Mississippi.
Leroy Joseph Weekly attended King High School in 1971, then later went to Kennedy King College to study business. Leroy married his one and only love, Audric Sadie Garrett, on June 8th, 1975, in Chicago. To that union were born six beautiful children, one of whom preceded him in death: Leroy Joseph Weekly Jr., in 1996.
Leroy leaves to cherish one daughter, Tatiana, whom he called Sweet Pea, and four sons: Macio, Mario, Rico, and Cisco, as well as one daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Weekly, whom he called Nelly Boo.
Leroy worked many jobs, but his main job was raising his children, whom he loved so dearly. Leroy opened his heart to many other children who called him Daddy. He worked for the CTA school bus back in Chicago. He was a volunteer coach for the Boys and Girls Club in his community. Leroy was known for his jokes and entertaining sense of humor, always helping people when they needed his assistance before he got sick.
Leroy moved his family from Chicago to Lexington, KY, in 2005. He studied the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses before his passing. Leroy has three grandchildren: Macio Weekly Jr., who he called MJ, Nateshia Weekly, and Arianna Weekly. One great-grandchild, Navya Asher.
Leroy's seven siblings preceded him in death: Sonny, Roosevelt, George, Mary, Sarah, Lillie, and Betty.
Leroy leaves to cherish his brother, James Weekly Jr.
Leroy leaves to cherish his eleven in-laws: brothers-in-law Gregory, Arthur, Preame, and Lamar; sisters-in-law Marilyn, Annette, Nathleen, Agnes, Eve, Sherese, and Theresa.
And a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who love him dearly.
