Les Wooley, age sixty-six years, was born on November 29, 1957 in Houston, Texas to Doc & Juanita (McCarty) Wooley. He passed away April 6, 2024 in a Bryan, Texas hospital following an extended illness.
Les embraced a passion for music from a young age, taking up the drums at just eight years old. He was a resident of Centerville for forty-six years, holding close the values of community and family that characterized his life.
Les found joy in the simple pleasures, enjoying woodworking, hunting, and fishing in his free time. Throughout his twenty-three-year tenure at a manufacturing company, he brought his humor and warmth to his colleagues and friends. At home, Les was known for his welcoming spirit, always ready to host family gatherings and parties to celebrate life's moments together.
Les was preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers, Joe Leonard and Wallace Earl Wooley; and sister, Juanita Roberts.
Surviving family members include wife, Sharon (Richardson) Wooley of Centerville; sons, Les Wayne Wooley (Lavonna) of Crockett and Joey Tubb (Tiffany) of Magnolia; daughter, Tabitha Foster (Craig) of San Antonio; brother, Roy Wooley (Jackie) of Magnolia; grandchildren, Krissy, Aby, Carson, Colton, Hailey, Sadie, Cadance, Pierceson, Jaclyn, Baylee, Laynie, Charlee, Jax and Atlas; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Les' impact reverberates in the hearts of those who knew him. In memory of his life, a funeral service will be held 1 P.M., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at New Salem Cemetery Chapel in the Centerview Community of Leon County, Texas. He will be laid to rest in New Salem Cemetery following the service.
Les Wooley touched the lives of many with his humor and generosity. Let us never forget him, as his spirit continues to live on in the memories and stories shared by those who loved him.
