Leslie Ann Kirby, 79, of Plainfield passed away on July 12, 2023. She was born on December 6, 1943 in Fortville, Indiana to the late Stewart G. Rafert and Mildred (Hawk) Rafert. Leslie attended Ball State University and I.U.P.U.I before becoming the general manager of the family farm. She loved to travel around the world and was an avid fan of art and architecture. Leslie was a former member of IMA, Indiana Landmarks and the Indiana Historical Society. She loved being a wife and mother most of all. She is survived by her husband, Floyd Kirby; children, Scott (Benita) Story, Todd (Kim) Kirby and Missy Story; brother, Stewart J. Rafert; 3 grandchildren; Madeline, Sarah and Miriam Kirby. Friends may visit at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home on Friday, July 21, from 11:00 to 1:00 pm. Inurnment will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date.
