Leslie Irwin Nathan, 88, of Westbrook, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025.
Born to Dr. Morris and Dorothy (Spiegel) Nathan in Hartford, he grew up in Avon. Les was predeceased by his parents, his sister Carol (Nathan) Goldberg, and his beloved grandson Jack Nathan. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lynne (Winkler) Nathan, and his loving family, including children Gerri (Gregg) Russo, Marc Nathan, and David (Ali) Nathan, and grandchildren Sam and Noa Russo, Jessica, Drew, Joe, and Max Nathan. He also leaves his brother Ron (Karen) Nathan, his brother-in-law David (Sherry) Winkler, sister-in-law Beth Kaufman (Gary), and many cherished nieces and nephews.
An accomplished attorney, Les was known for his gardening and boating passions, cheering enthusiastically for the Red Sox, UConn basketball, and the NY Giants. He found his greatest joys in life at Stannard Beach in Westbrook, where he built cherished childhood memories and spent countless happy moments with loved ones.
Les will be remembered for his humor, warmth, and unwavering loyalty to family and friends. His impact on those who knew him will not be forgotten.
A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, January 14th at 10:30 AM at Congregation Beth Israel, West Hartford, followed by shiva from 2–6pm at the home of Marc Nathan. Shiva will continue on Wednesday, January 15th 2-5pm, at the home of Lynne Nathan.
