Leslie Terrell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bogner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Jan. 6, 2026.
Leslie Wayne Terrell Sr., known to many as Wayne, age 80, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home on January 4, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born December 3, 1945, in Jacksonville, Florida.

Wayne was the beloved husband of Sonja Terrell, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Les Terrell Jr. (Jenine), Dreana Nealon (Mark), and Mindy Siler (David), and a proud Papa to six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, and a sister. He is survived by a brother and a sister.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Wayne worked for Republic Steel for 42 years. A man of God, he faithfully served his church as a deacon and member of the worship team.

Wayne enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and gardening, and cherished time with family and friends. He will be remembered as a fun-loving husband, dad, and papa, whose faith and love leave a lasting legacy. Friends may call Friday, January 9, 2026 from 12PM until the time of services at 1PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Daryl Meyers will officiate.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved Husband, Wayne. It was truly an honor to care for him, and I want you to know how deeply he was valued and cherished by those of us who had the privilege of being part of his daily life.

Though dementia slowly changes many things, it never erased who Wayne was at his core. In the quiet moments and familiar routines, his presence brought warmth, gentleness, and meaning. There were small, beautiful moments shared smiles, calm conversations, and peaceful times that reminded us all of the person he had always been.

Your family´s love was evident in every visit, every story shared, and every effort made to keep his world full of comfort and dignity. That love carried him through even the hardest days, and it was something he felt deeply, even when words could no longer express it.

Please know that Wayne was never alone. He was cared for with compassion, patience, and respect, and he will be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched here. His memory will remain a part of our hearts and our care community.

May you find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, free from the challenges he once faced, and surrounded by love that continues beyond this life. My thoughts are with you during this time of grief, and I hope you find strength in one another and in the many memories you hold close.

With sincere sympathy and heartfelt remembrance,
