Levi Stewart, 86, of Milan, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was born on March 17, 1939 in Clay County, Kentucky as the son of Marion and Lula (Davidson) Stewart.
Levi married Hazel Widener on March 1, 1978 and she survives. He honorably served his country in the United States Army before working for and eventually retiring from Jim Beam Brands. He was a faithful member of Pipecreek Freewill Baptist Church in Penntown and an active member of the John Thomas Association. He was proud to be affiliated with the former Sunman Masonic Lodge F&AM #590, the Eastern Star Milan Chapter #135, and the Scottish Rite of Cincinnati. He enjoyed his well-earned retirement and took great pleasure in mowing his lawn and spending time gardening.
Levi is survived by his wife, Hazel; sons: Steve Stewart and Ronald Stewart of Brookville, IN; daughter, Linda (John) Vanhart of Connersville, IN; step daughter, Tina Beckelhymer of Milan, IN; 1 grandchild; 3 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; and brother, Leslie Stewart.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances England and his brothers, Floyd Stewart and Jarman Stewart.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A masonic service will be held before the visitation at 11:30 AM. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 2:00 PM all services at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman, with military honors conducted by Sunman American Legion Post #337.
