Lewis Chapman Fulwiler

On November 13, 2025, after a short illness, Lewis Chapman Fulwiler left the human realm. He was 82 years old. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy - his queen of 47 years, whose love and care were the center of his world. He leaves his three children and their spouses carrying forward his lessons, along with his grandchildren and many other family members who loved him dearly.

Lewis was born in Washington, D.C., in 1943 to Lewis Bascom Fulwiler and Mary Lyman Brookes Fulwiler, and was raised in Alexandria alongside his sisters Cynthia, Mary, and Cathy. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in business administration and a minor in psychology.

Lewis began his career with Bell System, where he spent 25 years in managerial roles in customer service, public relations, and human resources. He later worked briefly as a massage therapist and then a CNA for Hospice of Northern Virginia. In 1995, he joined Senn Delaney as a consultant. There, he discovered profound fulfillment in guiding individuals and groups toward insight - helping them challenge long-held beliefs, see the world differently, and choose more effective, compassionate ways of being.

He was known for his deep love of family, his kindness, his wisdom, and the occasional mischievous prank. Lewis was also a storyteller at heart: someone who believed in the power of stories and taught those around him the importance of sharing their own.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Lewis by putting on some Willie Nelson music - or perhaps pulling a playful prank on someone you love.
