Lillian Blaney Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory (43rd St. Chapel) - Bradenton on Oct. 22, 2024.
Lillian D. Blaney
Bradenton – Lillie Blaney, 62, passed away on October 18th, 2024, at Tidewell Hospice Care center. Lillie was born on November 10th, 1962 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lillian (Gerden) Smith and Alton Smith.
Lillie deeply loved her two children. She was predeceased by her son, Lucas Blaney, who came to take her home with him. Surviving Lillie, in addition to her fiancé, Gregg Santangelo, is her daughter Ashley Blaney of Palmetto, Florida; her sisters Marlene Shamrock with her husband Paul of Cortland, Ohio, and Jan Buesing with her husband Charlie of Palmetto, Florida; her brothers T. Gordon Lamb with his wife Phyllis of Bradenton, Florida and Herb Lamb with his wife Susan of Cleveland, Georgia. Lillie loved Halloween and Christmas, always decorating and hosting get-togethers during the holiday season. Many fond memories will survive in the hearts of Lillie's 15 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews, and 15 great-great nieces and nephews.
In Lillie's earlier years, she faced many challenges, but ultimately overcame problems with addiction to become a sponsor, speaker and support others; strangers, friends and relatives over the years. Lillie leaves behind many friends that she has touched their lives, giving them hope for a better tomorrow. She was a strong woman with a zest for life, who fought so hard to beat cancer. Lillie was always on the go and celebrating life with friends and family, entertaining and hosting guests up to just a few weeks before her death. Our deepest appreciation is extended to the family and friends that visited and spent time with Lillie during her final days.
Lillie loved the beach, sunsets, cruises, and music. We welcome you to come and share your memories and enjoy music sung by her long-time friend, Rebecca Bird, during her memorial service held at 5pm on 10/23/2024 at Brown and Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 604 43rd St. W., Bradenton, FL 34209. Visitation and viewing will be on that same day, 10/23 between 3-5pm. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209, is in charge of arrangements.

We met the sweet Lillie and her daughter while on a dinner cruise! We are just so thankful to have met such kind souls, and they made that dinner cruise 100x more enjoyable! She will definitely be missed but is now up in Heaven watching over all of her loved ones! Sending prayers to the family and friends of Lillie´s! (The picture shown here is of the sunset the evening we met Lillie and Ashlie!)

My first meeting with this lovely Lillie was a candle party with Christina B. Always a cheerful welcoming hostess. There will never be another, Lillie was truly a special, beautiful lady who loved everyone she met in life!
