Lillian Patricia Etchison of Williamsport, IN passed away at Villas of Hollybrook, Danville, IL on September 7th, 2025 just 3 days shy of her 103rd birthday. Born on September 10, 1922 in Westville, IL to Polish immigrant parents Magdelene Wichtacz and Lawrence Pachciarz, she was the youngest of seven children.

Lillian graduated from Westville High School in 1940 and worked at the First National Bank until her marriage June 4, 1955 to Elmer Edward Etchison of Stewart, IN. In their 24 years together prior to Elmer’s passing in 1979 they raised two children. For the next 46 years she stayed in the family home. She served many years on the Fountain Warren Health Board. In the 1980’s she often operated the truck scale at the Stewart Grain Co. elevator and wore out many brooms on corn dust. She attended Holy Family Church of Danville and was a frequent volunteer on the Warren County election board. She was a prolific letter writer to family and friends her whole life and never threw away cards or letters she received. She loved her grandchildren, nieces and nephews very much and loved family gatherings.

Survivors include her daughter Polly (David) Gorden of Indianapolis and son Burton (Suzi) Etchison of Williamsport, also granddaughters Carrie Gorden (Danny Ekhaus) of San Diego, CA and Claire Gorden of Chicago, IL.

Visitation will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 444 East Main, Danville, IL at 10:00 am EST (INDIANA) time on Monday, September 15 with a funeral mass following at 11:00 am EST. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Contributions can be directed to the Warren County Community Foundation Good Samaritan Fund.
