Black Creek- Mrs. Lillian Lucille Sims Boatright, age 84 passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 at her home. Mrs. Boatright was born in the Black Creek community to the late Travis Sims, Sr. and Laura Gray Sims. Mrs. Boatright was a clerk for Gottieb’s Bakery for many years and enjoyed bowling and bingo. She also loved to dance and loved her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boatright was preceded in death by one son, Richard “ Ricky” Boatright, Sr.; two sisters, Helen Zipperer and Joyce Williams Roake and one brother, George Sims, Sr.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Edward A. Boatright, Sr of Black Creek; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Lisa Boatright of Guyton and Eddie Boatright, Jr. and his wife Tonya Boatright of Black Creek; one brother, Travis Sims, Jr. of Bulloch County; one sister, Sarah Coursey of Rincon; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Clint Holcombe officiating. Interment will follow in Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
