Linda Backoff, 70, of Iowa Falls, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa. A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Woodley Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Linda and her family.
Linda Jane Backoff was born on August 26, 1953 to Floyd and Barbara (Amundson) Ites in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School class of 1971.
Linda's greatest joy was her family. She loved planning family get-togethers and cooking enough food to feed an army. She not only loved cooking but loved teaching her kids and grandkids how to cook her favorite recipes.
Before becoming ill in her free time, you could catch her at the casino playing the slots or Bingo with her sister Kim and parents before they passed away. Linda was known for her generosity and would give anyone the shirt off her back or the last dollar she had. She never knew a stranger and enjoyed working with the public at the Handi-Stop and Hansen Family Hospital.
Linda Backoff is survived by her children, Chris (Sandra) Backoff of Marshalltown, IA, Shanna Malek of Pella, IA, Ashley Barkey of Colo, IA, Josh Bitters (Michelle Bonin) of Iowa Falls, IA, Shawn (Missy) Bitters of Colo, IA; grandchildren: Logan, Brooklynn and Gavin Backoff, Jordan (Deryl) Bunton, Paighton (Jaden) Ruth, Kaiden, Kameron and Kenry Barkey, Avery Goodknight, Lily, Arlo and Waylon Bitters, Damien, Monte and Eli Bitters; great-grandchildren, Makai and Luka Bunton and Noah Bitters; her siblings, Floyd Ites Jr (Bud) of Iowa Falls, IA, Todd Ites of Iowa Falls, IA and Stephanie Meyer of Lake City, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Barbara Ites; sister, Kimberly Newton; maternal grandparents, Omer and Borghild Amundson; paternal grandparents, Maynard and Merna Ites and best friend, Sue Ites.
