 “Devoted to her family”

HARWINTON– It is with heavy hearts that the family of Linda (Genovese) Bennett age 68, of Harwinton, announce her peaceful passing in the comfort of her home on November 04, 2024.

Linda was born on December 12, 1955 on Waterbury the daughter of the late Leonard and Yolanda (Guarino) Genovese. After graduating from Wilby High School in 1973, she went on to work in the banking industry before becoming a stay-at-home mom for her three children. Linda was known for her big heart, warm and nonjudgmental nature, and endless love of her family, friends, and animals. To spend time at “Linda’s Mini Farm” meant to know kindness, compassion, understanding, and love, no matter the species—dog, cat, goat, chicken, or even human. She also cherished sun-soaked days spent on the beach on Cape Cod with her feet in the sand and her family by her side. Of all the beautiful qualities that Linda possessed, it was her unconditional love for her children and grandchildren that shined the brightest. She would spend countless hours on the phone with her children, listening and offering advice whenever they needed it. She always made sure they were happy and had everything they needed. She intensely loved her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. Linda’s greatest role was as “Nana,” spending time cuddling her grandkids, showing them how to care for the animals, and telling them stories. You could never leave a visit with Nana without a lightened heart, a big smile, and a full belly. The loss of her comforting presence has left a searing pain in the hearts of those closest to her but also gives purpose to those who carry on her legacy to “Love Like Linda.”. We Love You Forever, Mom

Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her children; son, Justin Bennett and his wife Gina, daughter, Jaime Bennett, and son, Jonathan Bennett, in addition to her five grandchildren: Jonathan Laukaitis, Nicholas Bennett Saucier, Pierce Bennett, Paris Bennett, and Preston Bennett. She is also survived by her five siblings: Sandra (Genovese) Qerim and husband David, Leonard Genovese, Richard Genovese and wife Elaine, Steven Genovese, Rhonda (Genovese) Petruzzi and husband Peter, in addition to many loving nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her companion Walter Fritz, and ex-husband, life long friend, Chet Bennett. Linda was predeceased by not only her parents but her sister-in-law, Colleen (Shea) Genovese as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family members.

Funeral services for Linda will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury.
