Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford
Mrs. Linda Diane Bowles Ragon, 58, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, at her home in Oxford, MS. Visitation will be Monday, April 17, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home (601 Commerce Pkwy., Oxford, MS 38655). A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Springdale Cemetery (1429 Hwy. 334, Oxford, MS 38655). Bro. Fish Robinson will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Linda was born June 20, 1964, in Fort Sill, OK. She grew to be an incredibly strong willed and intelligent woman, working tirelessly to excel through school. This led her to receive her Bachelor's degree and her Master's degree in Nursing through The University of Texas at Arlington. Linda used her hard earned talents as a nurse and her God given ability as a caretaker to save and take care of countless people throughout her 28 years of nursing. She devoted around 25 of those years to Baptist Memorial Hospital, where she earned an incredible amount of respect and accolades as a true leader and teacher in the workplace. Many people would agree that she was truly one of the greatest managers and directors of her time.
Apart from her time at work, Linda was an incredibly dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put her family first and instilled her love for family and for others in her children and grandchildren. She never met a stranger, and she always made others feel welcome around her. As a result of her tendency to always put others first, Linda loved going overboard around the giving holidays such as Christmas. Having a special place in her heart for animals, Linda also considered her dogs family and treated them no different. Linda enjoyed traveling, antiquing, and shopping to her hearts content. She was also a proud member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church and attended Community Church in Oxford. Linda will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her husband, Brent Ragon of Oxford; her father, Arthur E. (Wanda) Bowles of Batesville, MS; five children, Tiffany (Kevin) Shankle of Oxford, Josh (Wanda) Russell of Tylertown, MS, Kyle (Mandy) Ragon of Shannon, MS, Brooke (Mason) Luther of Pontotoc, MS, and Presley (Josh) Keel of Oxford; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and her 3 dogs, Chumley, Charlie, and Ellie Mae Pickles.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Waltraud Kupfer Bowles; and her beloved dog, Daisy.
