Linda Susan Etheridge

Linda Susan Etheridge, beloved sister, mother, and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2024, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 74. Linda was born in Norfolk on May 11, 1950, to Elias and Christine Etheridge. She was predeceased by her mother Christine Etheridge, father Elias Etheridge Jr., and brother David Etheridge.
Linda attended the College of William and Mary and the University of Virginia, after which she worked as a district manager for Virginia social services. Linda was a District Manager at the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Social Services, where she dedicated her career to helping others. She was known for her organizational skills, helpful nature, and charitable heart. Linda's determined and loving personality touched the lives of many.
Outside of work, Linda found joy in spending time with her family and beloved cats and dogs, solving crossword puzzles, swimming, reading, cruising, and traveling. She was also a dedicated Lions club and Great Bridge Presbyterian member.
Linda is survived by her brother, Robert Etheridge; daughters, Laura Ferguson and Elizabeth Mendenhall; and three grandchildren, Gabriel Ferguson, and Evelyn and Riley Harmon-Mendenhall, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at Great Bridge Presbyterian Church on Friday June 21st at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Linda's memory can be made to the Abato Foundation Uganda, Central Union Mission, or any SPCA/Rescues for Animals.
