Linda Sue Green of Milford replaced the white angel wings she wore on Earth with golden heavenly wings on August 9, 2025. In her 74 years, Linda touched so many lives and anyone who ever met her loved her. Born the daughter of the late John and Viola Hochstedler Green in Milford, Linda was the only girl in a family with four rowdy brothers. Linda was the calm, sane and quiet one of all the siblings. She always said that she was so lucky to have the brothers she did and she adored them all. Linda's "children" were her beloved dogs along with her nieces and nephews. She and her mother raised Cocker Spaniels and Pomeranians for a while, but recently Linda chose to adopt dogs that had lost their owners. In her eyes, dogs could never do anything wrong. As for her nieces and nephews, Linda also believed they were perfect. She loved spending time with family, especially laughing at their antics. The crazier they were, the happier Linda was. Her family will fondly remember game nights with Linda. Her trivia knowledge was unmatched (although she always asked for "Orange Music No Beatles Questions" during Trivial Pursuit - and then knew the answer to the Beatles question). There was no game she loved more than Shang-Hai (except maybe pinochle) and whenever the family was together for a game night, no one escaped playing that card game. Linda also loved game shows like "Family Feud," "Jeopardy," "Wheel of Fortune," and "Press Your Luck." Linda worked as a regional manager for Ames Department stores, starting with the company as a clerk in the Milford store when it opened and moving up the ranks until the stores closed completely. She then took a position with Michael's in Dover where she could often be seen stocking shelves and running cash registers until her heath required her to retire. Her mother taught her to sew as a young girl and Linda created many sets of Barbie and doll clothes for her nieces over the years. She loved all types of crafts and created beautiful items that she often just gave away. Linda loved puzzles of all kinds, especially jigsaw puzzles. She was also an avid reader and her home is filled with books of many different genres, from murder mysteries to romance novels. Linda is survived by her brother, Denny Green and his wife Jill; sister-in-laws, Judy Green, Donna Kay Green and Lois Hochstedler. She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Terry (Greg) Rogers; Tammy (Joe) Knott; Robert (Shay) Hochsteder; Dave (Christy) Green; Chrissy (Dale) Combs; Steven (Heather) Green; Brian (Tammy) Joseph; Suzanne (Chris) Lewczak; Alan (Jennifer) Green and Brooke Mitchell. Also surviving Linda are her great-nieces and nephews: Nicole (Tyler) Hutchison; Jeremy Knott; Chris Hochstedler; Kitt Hochsteder; Eric (Ashley) Green; Tyler (Abby) Green; Ryan (Jen) Asti; Kyle (Jen) Asti; Jeffrey Asti; Jennifer (Tristan) Asti; Hannah Green; Hailey Green; Noah Joseph; Angela Lewczak; Mikayla (Connor) Perry; and Charleigh Green. Her aunt, Saundra Hochstedler, also survives her. Linda is also survived by friends she considered family, Leigh Ann and Rick Embleton and Sandi Johnson. Linda also left behind 16 great-great nieces and nephews with one on the way. She is also survived by her beloved four-legged companion, Charlie. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert Hochstedler, David Green and Mike Green; a sister-in-law, Donna Green; aunts Naomi Henry and Annie Clavio; uncles, Allen, Paul and Robert Hochstedler. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday August 18, 2025 from the Framptom Funeral Home-Fleischauer Chapel 16 West Market St. Greenwood, DE. Where a viewing will be held from Noon until 1:00PM.

I had the true good fortune to work with Linda as part of the regional staff at Ames. She was one of the sweetest, kindest and most sincere people I have ever met. NEVER an unkind word for anyone and loved by everyone. Thank you, Linda for being such a wonderful co-worker, friend and human being. I am a better person for knowing you. Rest in Peace.
