Linda Marie Kraus, 73, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shumway, IL. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church on Friday, October 17, 2025 prior to the service at the church. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, IL is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made directly to the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.

Linda was born on September 12, 1952, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Edward Jr. and Marie (Furman) Lane. She married the love of her life James "Jim" Kraus on September 12, 1970 in Skokie, IL and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2011.

Linda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shumway, IL. She worked for Prince Corporation, previously known as Siemer Distribution, in Teutopolis, IL for 35 years. She loved to cook and bake, especially for others. She also enjoyed crocheting. Linda was a loving and selfless person.

Linda will be lovingly remembered by her children, Marie (Dave) Freeland, Diane Cooper, and James (Christina) Kraus II; grandchildren, Brooke, Tatia, Alex, Nate, Robby, Jayden, Klayten, and Carmen; great-grandchildren, Journey and Natalia; and many loving extended family members.

She was preceded by her husband, Jim Kraus.
