Linda Leonard cherished soul known for her loving and generous spirit, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren at the age of 72 on October 22, 2025, at Genesis Healthcare in Zanesville, Ohio. Born on December 29, 1952, Linda grew up in a world that she would fill with warmth, joy, and the comfort of her handmade quilts. Linda left behind a legacy of love and devotion, embodied by her adoring family. She is survived by her children, Johnny (Amy) Dalrymple, Chastity (William) Glass, Heather (Obie) Scott; her cherished grandchildren, Joshua (Kendra) Dalrymple, Haley (Jesse) Santos, Jonathan Bennett, Ariel (Jacob) McCormick, Austin (Georgia) Dalrymple, Hunter Glass, and Cheyenne Reed; as well as 15 great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Emery, Seylah, Jaycee, Aria, Rowen, Allyanna, Cerise, Blaze, Dane, Emmett, Josh Jr., Kolsyn, Atticus and Griffin who brought immense joy to her later years. Linda also leaves behind her sister Darlene Brown, brother-in-law Mike Dunkle, five nieces, two nephews, and her best friend and neighbor, Worden Hodge. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Galen Leonard, her parents Daniel Helsel and Betty McLellan, stepfather Dale McClellan, sister Marcia Dunkle, and her faithful fur companion, Maggie May. Linda's work ethic was as strong as her love for her family. She dedicated 30 years of committed labor, retiring from the former TRW and more recently PCC. She also lent her artistic touch to D & D Pottery in Roseville, where she skillfully painted pottery alongside her in-laws. Her creativity was not confined to her work; Linda was an avid sewer, often found crafting blankets and quilts that would become treasured keepsakes for her family and friends. A woman of many passions, Linda's appreciation for life was evident in her love for dining out, particularly at Texas Roadhouse, where she famously challenged herself with the biggest steak on the menu. She enjoyed her weekly shopping trips with her friend Worden, a testament to her love for both friendship and adventure. Linda's heart extended to all creatures, with a particular fondness for horses and dogs, reflecting her nurturing spirit. Linda's leisure time was spent indulging in her favorite shows, from the mysterious allure of "Mountain Monsters" and "Ghost Adventures" to the captivating storylines of "General Hospital" and "Heartland." The heartwarming tales of the Hallmark Channel were also among her favorites, providing her with endless hours of comfort and enjoyment. To know Linda was to know the true meaning of matriarchal love. She was not only a mother to her own children but also a mother figure to many who were not bound to her by blood. Her presence was a sanctuary of warmth, and her legacy will continue to be felt through the lives she touched and the memories she created. Calling hours will be held Monday October 27, 2025, from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville, where funeral services will be celebrated Tuesday October 28, 2025, at 11:00AM with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville. You may send a condolence at www.ross-frashfuneralhomes.com
