Linda McNew Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bridges Funeral Home on Sep. 15, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Linda Ellen Duggan McNew. On Sunday, September 14, 2025, God sent his angels to carry her to her eternal home. No more sorrow, suffering or pain, only beautiful peace.

While we weep for our loss, we can rejoice in knowing that she is in the presence of God, family and friends who have gone on before her including: her husband, Fred McNew; father, Thomas (Buck) Duggan; step-father, Benny McNutt; grandparents, Lewis and Maudelle Monday, Joe and Ruby Duggan, and Wes and Victoria McNutt.

Leaving her love and precious memories for those of us still here are her mother, Dianne Monday McNutt; son, Charles Cole McNew (the love of her life) and his precious wife Lindsey; and her beautiful grandchildren, Tatum, Cali and Ben (who made her life with them wonderful). Also, all of the special Monday's, Duggan's, McNutt's and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Special thanks to her Asbury U.M. Church family and Rev. Larry Dial, U.T. Hospice and Chaplain Dexter Jordan, Lori Caldwell, Elizabeth Miller and Hyland Herrel. Also, her earth angels, Aunt Mary and Aunt Nancy, Linda's namesake, Martha Ellen Cox, KenJo's Market #22 and Food City Pharmacy #655 for their kindness.

And "the greatest of these is love."

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Asbury UM Church Building Fund, 2822 Asbury Rd., Knoxville, TN 37914, UT Hospice, or the charity of your choice.

Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Asbury Cemetery for an 11:00 AM Graveside Service, with Rev. Larry Dial officiating.
