In Loving Memory of Linda Sue Coker Ortiz
January 31, 1946 – April 17, 2025
Linda Sue Coker Ortiz graduated to glory on April 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 31, 1946, Linda lived a life marked by unwavering love, selfless generosity, and profound faith. To all who knew her, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend-a woman who gave endlessly of herself, always putting others before herself.
Linda's greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart and soul into her children and grandchildren, praying for them daily and celebrating their every accomplishment. She was so proud of her daughters and grandchildren. She was always interested in their lives and continued to be so until her very last moment. Her steadfast love never wavered, even in the most difficult times. She embodied the spirit of 1 Thessalonians 5:17, as she "prayed without ceasing" for all those she loved.
Despite facing many hardships throughout her entire life, Linda remained faithful and kind, her heart anchored in Christ. When Jesus took her home, her trials were finally over, hallelujah no more struggles. Her strength, grace, and humility left a lasting legacy of love and service. She often reminded others, "Don't ever be ashamed of Jesus," and lived those words through every act of kindness and compassion.
She is survived by her three beloved daughters and their families:
· Brenda Edwards and her husband Matt, along with grandsons Taylor Edwards (wife Abby), Tanner, Tucker, and Turner Edwards
· Dianna Adkins and her husband John, with granddaughters Mary Adkins Krier (husband Skyler) and Claire Adkins
· Jennifer Ortiz, with grandchildren Owen, Olivia, and Jasper Dunham
Linda's life was a testament to being the hands and feet of Jesus. Her godly heritage will continue on through her family who have all put their faith in Jesus. To honor her memory and continue her legacy of compassion, the family will continue sponsoring the child she supported through Compassion International. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassion International to help sponsor children in need around the world.
Though she now walks in Glory, we know she would humbly lay any heavenly crown at the feet of Jesus, believing she was unworthy of the very love she so freely gave to others. Linda would also want this for you, so if you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, let today be the day.
This unnamed poem says it well:
God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be;
So He put His arms around her and whispered, 'Come with me.'
With tearful eyes as we watched her suffer, and saw her fade away;
Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us; He only takes the best.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Family has requested for all those attending the service to please wear pink.
